In this Skill Lab, you begin by reflecting on a difficult conversation you've been avoiding, exploring the reasons behind your hesitation. Using the Meaningful Conversations Framework, you are guided through the essential steps of preparing for, conducting, and following up on a conversation to ensure it is productive and meaningful for everyone involved.

You'll be introduced to the skills needed in meaningful conversations and then examine Howard Markman’s research on conflict to identify the common reasons conversations derail and strategies for managing conflict. In pairs, you then apply this insight to the conversation you’ve been avoiding, discussing how to overcome barriers and prepare effectively.

The session concludes with a commitment to schedule the conversation and by identifying two key actions to practice during it. After attending the Skill Lab, you'll have access to a 30-day micro learning app that takes just 5-10 minutes/day to help you embed the new skill in your day-to-day.
